Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has come under criticism from some of his supporters following his recent allegation of violence against his supporters ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The backlash followed Adeleke’s appeal to President Bola Tinubu to intervene over what he described as escalating violence and alleged extrajudicial killings in the state.
Speaking at the Accord Party governorship campaign rally in Olorunda Local Government Area, the governor urged the President not to ignore the situation, warning that lives were being lost.
Adeleke also shared a video clip from the campaign rally on his official X account.
However, instead of receiving widespread sympathy, several users criticised the governor in the comment section, with some accusing him of making political miscalculations and aligning too closely with the presidency in the past.

One user, @OlanFab, argued that Adeleke was now facing the consequences of his earlier political decisions.
“Adeleke deserves every treatment he is getting from Tinubu. You avoided joining any major opposition because you wanted to support him. Now face your fate alone,” the user wrote.
Another commenter, @yinka_george, urged the governor to strengthen his political strategy rather than relying on appeals to the Federal Government.
Others questioned the likelihood of any intervention from President Tinubu, while some advised Adeleke to work more closely with opposition leaders to improve his political chances.
The reactions reflect the growing political tension in Osun State as campaigning intensifies ahead of the governorship election, with supporters and critics alike expressing strong views over the governor’s handling of the unfolding situation.
