Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has again declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying he is committed to helping the President secure strong support from the state.
Adeleke made the statement during a meeting with the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ajibola Basiru, on Sunday.
The governor said his promise to support Tinubu was genuine and insisted that he does not make commitments without intending to fulfil them.
According to Adeleke, politics should be conducted with integrity, adding that political differences should not prevent people from working together in the interest of the state and country.
“I don’t make empty promises,” the governor said, while reiterating his commitment to delivering Osun votes to Tinubu in the 2027 election.
He also appealed to political stakeholders from Osun to put aside their differences and work together in support of the President.
Adeleke explained that his political approach was influenced by the principles he learnt from his late father, whom he described as a diplomat and labour union politician.
The governor’s declaration comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum across Nigeria.
His comments are expected to generate further discussion about the political alignment in Osun State and the evolving relationships among major political actors ahead of the election.
