Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Chike Amaewhule, has received members of the defunct Simplified Movement into the political camp associated with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
The group, which comprises political supporters previously aligned with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, is largely drawn from the Evo axis of the state.
The delegation was led by former Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Solomon Abel Eke, who said the group had reaffirmed its political loyalty to Wike.
The delegation said its visit to Amaewhule was intended to formally return to what it described as the political family.
The members also expressed their readiness to work with the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Receiving the delegation, Amaewhule stressed the importance of political stakeholders putting aside differences and working together in the interest of Rivers State.
The Speaker also appealed to politicians who left the political camp during the prolonged disagreement between Wike and Fubara to return.
The political realignment comes amid renewed engagements among key actors in the Rivers political landscape as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
Earlier on Tuesday, Wike and other members of the Rainbow Coalition visited Governor Fubara at his residence in Port Harcourt.
The development comes after months of political tension between supporters of the former Rivers governor and his successor, with several political actors having taken opposing positions during the dispute.
