The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has congratulated four APC candidates who won seats in Saturday’s legislative bye-elections.
The elections were conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.
The APC secured four of the five available seats, while the Allied Peoples Movement won the Sakwa State Constituency seat in Bauchi.
APC Candidates Declared Winners
Yilwatda congratulated Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a, Husseini Datti, Okolosi Ator and Yakubu Ali.
The candidates emerged victorious in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State, Dawakin Kudu State Constituency of Kano State, Udu State Constituency of Delta State and Disina State Constituency of Bauchi State respectively.
The five bye-elections involved one House of Representatives seat and four State House of Assembly seats.

Yilwatda Speaks on the Results
In a congratulatory message shared on Sunday, Yilwatda said the victories reflected the support given to the APC candidates by voters.
He also congratulated party leaders, state chapters, campaign teams and voters who participated in the elections.
The APC chairman urged the newly elected lawmakers to see their victories as a responsibility to serve their constituents.
He also commended INEC, security agencies and other stakeholders involved in the conduct of the polls.
Bye-Elections Held Ahead of 2027
The elections were held on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan described the polls as important operational exercises that could provide lessons for preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The results have now filled five legislative vacancies across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states.
Yilwatda described the victories as a responsibility to the people who elected the candidates.
He urged the newly elected lawmakers to remain humble and focus on effective representation.
