Nigerian social media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has reportedly lost her second son, Bryan, while she remains in custody in Lagos.
The development was announced on Friday by Amira Agiye, CEO of the Isaamira Love Foundation, who appealed for public assistance on behalf of the influencer.
Amira Agiye Announces Death
Agiye said Blessing CEO was unable to be with her family following the reported death because she remains in custody.
In an audio recording played by Agiye, a voice identified as that of Blessing CEO also spoke about the loss.
She reportedly said her son, Bryan, was full of life and that she hoped to leave custody so she could return home, mourn him and begin dealing with the loss.
The circumstances surrounding Bryan’s death have not been publicly disclosed.
Appeal for Financial Support
Agiye also appealed to Nigerians to assist Blessing CEO in meeting her bail requirements and settling outstanding financial obligations connected with her legal troubles.
She said the appeal was being made with Blessing CEO’s consent.
According to the appeal, N20 million is needed to meet her bail conditions, while another N36 million was mentioned in relation to debts owed to people involved in the case.
Blessing CEO’s Ongoing Court Case
Blessing CEO has been facing an alleged N69.15 million property fraud case before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alleged that she obtained the money from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited after allegedly representing herself as the owner of a Lekki property that she purportedly leased to the company.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In July, Justice Rahman Oshodi granted her N20 million bail with two sureties in like sum. Each surety was required to provide proof of deposits valued at N20 million covering three years.
Reports say she has remained in custody because the bail conditions have not been fulfilled.
The alleged fraud case remains before the court, and the allegations against Blessing CEO have not been proven.
