The Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, has addressed concerns regarding the alleged extravagant lifestyles of public officials.
According to Adedeji, President Bola Tinubu maintains a modest lifestyle despite his significant role.
During an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, journalist Seun Okinbaloye asked Adedeji about the lifestyles of political office holders, especially given the economic challenges facing Nigerians.
This conversation takes place amid ongoing public debates over government expenditure and the behavior of political leaders, as Nigerians grapple with increasing living costs and economic pressures.
Addressing questions about the President’s movements and his reported use of luxury vehicles, Adedeji noted that Tinubu typically walks from his residence to the office, using a vehicle only for travel to the airport.
He added that the President eats just once a day and has not traveled internationally in the past three months.
When questioned about the number of Escalades associated with Tinubu’s convoy, Adedeji challenged the validity of such claims, suggesting that the President could afford such vehicles.
Adedeji emphasized, “Mr. President walks from home to his office and only uses a car when heading to the airport. Before becoming president, he could already afford an Escalade. Let’s not embarrass this country.
