Tinubu Congratulates Adeleke on Re-election

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu called to congratulate him after his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

Adeleke made this known while speaking with journalists shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner.

The governor described Tinubu’s gesture as a positive sign for Nigeria’s democracy, thanking the President for acknowledging the outcome of the election.

According to Adeleke, he remained confident throughout the electoral process because of his strong faith in God, insisting that he never doubted his chances of emerging victorious.

He also appealed to his major opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to accept the result and congratulate him, describing such an action as a sign of political maturity and civility.

Adeleke further urged political actors and stakeholders in the state to respect democratic principles and accept the outcome of the election as the state moves forward.

The President’s congratulatory call followed Adeleke’s declaration as winner of the Osun governorship election.
