Kanu’s Brother to El-Rufai: Same Support Awaits You

Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the younger sibling of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu, has extended his sympathy to former Kaduna State governor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) leader, Nasir El-Rufai, due to his ongoing detention.

El-Rufai is under prosecution by the Federal Government for allegations from his time as Kaduna State governor. These include purported corruption and allegations of intercepting the telephone communications of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.

In response, Emmanuel Kanu remarked that El-Rufai’s predicament reminds him of the legal issues his own brother faced.

In a Thursday post on Facebook, he hinted that political leaders like El-Rufai might have shown more support for Nnamdi Kanu during his similar struggles.

“Had we rallied behind him when he spoke truth to power, perhaps the same support would be available for you today,” wrote Emmanuel.

Injustice Knows No Boundaries

Emmanuel emphasized that El-Rufai’s detention serves as a stark reminder that injustice can touch anyone, irrespective of their ethnicity or faith.

He observed that the challenges faced by the former governor are comparable, in his opinion, to those encountered by Nnamdi Kanu.

“Your Excellency, I am genuinely sorry for what you’re undergoing,” he noted. “It reflects the same trials my brother and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra has endured and continues to endure.”

Emmanuel concluded his message by advocating for increased unity and support in fighting what he perceives as injustice.

“This is a reminder that injustice knows no boundaries of tribe or religion.”

He encouraged Nigerians to see such issues beyond political, ethnic, and religious divides, encouraging unity when others experience persecution or injustice.
