Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued a victim during a security operation in Nasarawa State.
According to reports, one of the suspects was arrested at a hideout in Atabula, Duduguru community, within the Jenkwe Development Area. Two others were later apprehended at a hotel in Lafia, the state capital.
During the operation, the security operatives destroyed a makeshift camp allegedly used by the suspects and recovered cash, five mobile phones and other items.
Reacting to the development, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule commended the security agencies for what he described as a demonstration of their commitment to combating crime in the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, the governor praised the operatives for their vigilance and urged them to maintain the momentum in the fight against criminal activities.
Sule assured the security agencies that his administration would continue to provide the necessary support to enable them carry out their duties effectively.
The governor also urged residents to remain alert and share credible information with security agencies to help prevent criminal activities.
He stressed that cooperation between citizens and security personnel remains important in sustaining peace and security across Nasarawa State.
