Davido Banned From Performing in Edo

The warning was issued by Apostle Kassy Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media to Governor Okpebholo, who said Davido should not expect to perform in the state for the remainder of the governor’s tenure.

The controversy began after Okpebholo criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke during the campaign for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Davido, who supported his uncle Adeleke during the election, responded by sharing what appeared to be Okpebholo’s WAEC result on his Instagram page.

Following Adeleke’s victory in the August 15 election, Davido maintained that he had no reason to apologise to the Edo governor.

Reacting to the singer’s position, Chukwu said Davido had been barred from performing in Edo State and advised him to stay away.

The development has added another twist to the political disagreement between the singer and the Edo governor, with the dispute now extending into the entertainment space.
