Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has achieved another major international milestone after her latest album, Starrgirl, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
The achievement was recorded on the chart for the week of August 29, 2026, barely two weeks after the album was released.
Starrgirl entered the chart behind three K-pop releases. Stray Kids’ This & That retained the top position, followed by CORTIS’ GREEN GREEN and ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part.5. South African singer Tyla’s APOP placed fifth.
Released on August 14, 2026, through Mavin Records and Republic Records, Starrgirl is Ayra Starr’s third studio album, following 19 & Dangerous (2021) and The Year I Turned 21 (2024).
The 16-track project features collaborations with major Nigerian and international artists, including Wizkid, Rema, Zayn, Leon Thomas, kwn, Danny Ocean and Theodora.
The album has also performed strongly outside the United States, reaching No. 8 on the UK R&B Albums chart, No. 27 on the UK Album Downloads chart and No. 100 on France’s SNEP Albums chart.
In Nigeria, Starrgirl topped Spotify’s album chart and recorded several No. 1 positions on Apple Music charts in different countries.
The latest Billboard achievement further highlights Ayra Starr’s growing influence on the global music scene and the continued international reach of Nigerian Afrobeats.
