Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara held a meeting with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt on Sunday, in a development that could attract attention as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections gather momentum.
Fubara visited Wike at his residence in the Rivers State capital. The meeting was disclosed by Lere Olayinka, a media aide to the FCT Minister, in a post on Facebook.
The governor was accompanied by Dr Sam Sam Jaja during the visit.
According to the information released, the meeting also brought together other prominent political figures from Rivers State. Kingsley Chinda, identified as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, was present and received Fubara.
Former senator Magnus Abe was also reportedly at the residence during the governor’s visit.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of increasing political discussions surrounding the 2027 general elections and the future direction of politics in Rivers State.
