Bldun Ajiboye has raised concerns regarding Peter Obi’s intellectual capabilities, governance experience, and overall suitability to lead Nigeria, asserting that President Bola Tinubu possesses more robust political credentials.
In an interview conducted by Shun Okumballoyo, Ajiboye delivered a pointed critique of the former governor of Anambra State, questioning his performance in office and his professional qualifications.
Ajiboye claimed that there were discrepancies in the management of students’ examination results during Obi’s governorship in Anambra State. He also mentioned former governor Willie Obiano, alleging that Obiano faced challenges after assuming leadership.
The commentator further scrutinized Obi’s banking experience, contending that his role as a bank chairman should not be automatically interpreted as proof of the intellectual capacity necessary for governing Nigeria.
Ajiboye contrasted Obi’s background with that of Tinubu, whom he characterized as being more intellectually and politically prepared to lead the nation.
He highlighted Tinubu’s political influence and contributions to Lagos, arguing that the state’s evolution into one of Africa’s leading economic hubs demanded considerable political and administrative skill.
Ajiboye also took issue with Obi’s public persona as a politician who presents himself as humble and distinct from other political figures. He questioned some of the former governor’s public assertions regarding his personal assets and lifestyle.
According to Ajiboye, Nigerians ought to consider leaders who have already amassed wealth prior to entering public service, suggesting that such individuals would have diminished financial incentives to pursue government roles.
