Bandits have reportedly demanded N30 million for the release of six Islamic clerics abducted in Zamfara State.
The clerics were allegedly kidnapped after attending a special prayer session organised in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Clerics Abducted After Prayer Session
The reported abduction was disclosed by conflict reporter D English Alhaji in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
According to him, the six Islamic scholars were kidnapped after attending the prayer session organised by Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the senator representing Zamfara West and described in the report as the APC campaign Director-General.
The prayer session was held for Tinubu and the APC.
Bandits Demand N30 Million
D English Alhaji said the abductors have demanded N30 million as ransom for the release of the six clerics.
He identified the victims as six Sheikhs who were reportedly taken by the bandits after the prayer gathering.
The conflict reporter shared photographs of the abducted clerics alongside his account of the incident.
However, the report did not include comments from the Zamfara State Government, security agencies or the families of the victims confirming the abduction or ransom demand.
Further details about the location of the abduction and the current condition of the clerics were also not provided.
