Burnham emphasized that the UK is committed to standing by Ukraine despite Moscow’s intimidation, stating that Britain’s support will not waver in Ukraine’s time of need. He highlighted that the UK continues to uphold its promise to assist Ukraine in its defense against Russia’s invasion.
The Russian embassy in London has accused the UK of exacerbating the conflict through military support to Ukraine. Moscow cautioned that increased British involvement might lead to significant consequences, although it did not elaborate on what these could entail. This warning came after reports surfaced about British-made drones being used in attacks deep within Russian territory. The UK Ministry of Defence has not confirmed these reports but reiterated its steadfast support for Ukraine by supplying necessary equipment.
Ukraine has escalated its use of long-range drones to strike targets within Russia, including military, energy, and logistical sites. Recent incidents have impacted oil infrastructure and operations linked to Wildberries, one of Russia’s largest online retailers, intensifying pressure on Russia’s internal resources and fueling tensions between Moscow and Kyiv’s Western allies.
