Adeleke Wins Closely Fought Osun Poll

Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, announced the final result on Sunday morning.

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who recorded 444,815 votes.

Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) finished third with 17,180 votes.

The victory gives Adeleke another mandate to govern Osun State for a second term.

A total of 15 political parties participated in the election, although the main contest was largely between candidates of the Accord Party, APC and ADC.
