Arsenal Make Dream Start With 3–0 Win Over Coventry

Arsenal made a flying start to their Premier League title defence, defeating newly promoted Coventry City 3–0 at the Emirates Stadium on Friday.

Kai Havertz opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Bukayo Saka doubled Arsenal’s advantage eight minutes later. Captain Martin Ødegaard completed the victory early in the second half.

The result gave Mikel Arteta’s side an ideal beginning to their campaign as they look to retain the Premier League title.

Havertz, Saka and Ødegaard on Target

Havertz put Arsenal ahead after finishing a move created by Riccardo Calafiori, while Saka quickly added a second after Coventry goalkeeper Carl Rushworth could only parry a cross into his path.

Ødegaard then made it 3–0 four minutes after the restart, effectively ending Coventry’s hopes of a comeback.

Arsenal continued to control the match and created further opportunities, while David Raya kept a clean sheet.

Coventry Face Tough Return

The defeat marked a difficult return to the Premier League for Coventry, who were playing in the top flight for the first time since 2001.

Despite the result, Coventry manager Frank Lampard said his players could learn from the experience as they adjust to the demands of Premier League football.

For Arsenal, however, the emphatic victory sends an early message to their rivals that the champions remain determined to defend their crown.
