The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has confidently stated that nothing can prevent him from winning the 2027 election, as he is full of vitality and energy.
Reflecting on his political journey, Atiku likened his persistence to that of former United States President Abraham Lincoln, pointing out that he has run for both presidential and governorship positions multiple times without success.
In an interview with Jaji TV Hausa, Atiku recounted his experiences of running for the governorship in Adamawa State four times, with each attempt thwarted by the military administration. It was only on his fifth try that he finally succeeded.
He remarked, “I am in good health, energetic, and there’s nothing that can stand in my way. Let me share this: before achieving victory in the governorship election, I ran four times, with military regimes canceling the process each time. On my fifth attempt, I succeeded and eventually became Vice President of Nigeria. In politics, this isn’t unusual. Consider how many times Abraham Lincoln lost elections before becoming President of the United States.”
