In Katsina State, bandits have allegedly confirmed the death of Biliya, a key lieutenant to the infamous bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu. This follows an attack by security forces in the Matazu area.
Security analysts, Zagazola Makama, reported this development on Saturday, August 15, 2026, drawing from intelligence gathered from a conversation between two suspected bandit associates, identified as Mamiyo and Juli Asso Maha.
The report mentions that the conversation was intercepted around 11:34 pm. Juli inquired about Biliya’s whereabouts from Mamiyo, who had recently returned from Kachalla Muhammadu’s base.
Mamiyo reportedly confirmed that Biliya and his gang had moved toward the northern part of their location in the Matazu region for an operation. The group supposedly entered an unnamed town and left Biliya inside a shop there before being attacked by security forces.
According to Mamiyo, Biliya was confirmed dead once the group returned to their leader’s location.
Juli expressed frustration upon learning of Biliya’s death, which reportedly angered other members of the group.
As of now, authorities have not released an official statement confirming Biliya’s reported death.
