Air Peace’s flight operations have been suspended due to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) locking the airline’s terminals.
According to reports, flight operations at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos have been disrupted due to a protest by union members associated with Air Peace.
Consequently, an Air Peace flight that was set to depart Lagos at 6:30 a.m. could not take off.
This situation reflects events happening at airports throughout the country.
Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), confirmed when reached out to that details about the event would be provided later.
“Yes, it involves the unions. Once I arrive at the airport, I’m expecting to gather more accurate information about what’s happening,” he shared.
A user on platform X, who goes by the handle YoufoundAlex, shared his frustration online:
He posted on X, “I have a 9:00 a.m. appointment in Abuja today, but I’m currently stuck at the Lagos airport because of an Air Peace workers’ protest. This has led to the airport’s closure and disrupted flights.”
This situation has caused passengers in Lagos to be stranded because of flight delays.
