Domestic airlines have resumed flight operations after aviation unions temporarily halted their industrial action. This development followed a disruption that had stranded passengers at airports nationwide.
Air Peace’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, informed the press on Tuesday that the airline has restarted its services and is actively working to accommodate passengers affected by the strike.
The airline typically manages around 70 regional and international flights daily, having canceled 29 flights by Tuesday afternoon. Further cancellations may occur as they assess the ability to operate flights for waiting passengers.
Efe also mentioned that the unions had announced at the airport their decision to temporarily suspend the strike. “We are evaluating how many flights we can operate given the number of passengers waiting,” he said. “Yes, they have announced a suspension of the action.”
