The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has handed over 204 pump-action rifles seized at the Tincan Island Port in Lagos to the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW).
The firearms were reportedly imported from Turkey and intercepted by security operatives following intelligence received about their movement into the country.
According to the report, the seizure was carried out as part of efforts to prevent the weapons from getting into illegal circulation and potentially being used to fuel insecurity.
