Tamunosoye Karibi-George is continuing to make headlines on the international pageant stage after securing a place among the Miss World 2026 Top 40 in Vietnam.
The Nigerian beauty queen earned the qualification after winning the Miss World Africa Top Model title at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest in Nha Trang on August 27, 2026.
Karibi-George’s rise to the global stage has been built over several years of pageantry, communication and community advocacy. Born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, she developed an interest in public speaking and performance before eventually studying Communications at Madonna University, Okija.
Her pageant journey gained momentum in 2023 when she participated in the Miss Port Harcourt City Beauty Pageant. Although she finished as first runner-up, the experience led to her being named Face of Port Harcourt City for 2023/2024.
She later represented Nigeria at the Miss Africa International pageant in Accra, Ghana, where she emerged victorious in 2024.
Beyond pageantry, Karibi-George has used her platform to promote social causes. Her Beyond Labels initiative focuses on creating greater inclusion and opportunities for children with disabilities and special needs.
Winning Miss World Nigeria
In 2026, Karibi-George reached another major milestone when she was crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026, representing Bayelsa State.
Her victory gave her the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Miss World Festival in Vietnam, where she has continued to participate in various competitions and activities.
Her campaign has combined beauty, communication and advocacy, particularly through her Beauty With a Purpose project.
A Place in the Top 40
Her biggest international breakthrough so far came on August 27 when she won the Miss World Africa Top Model competition.
The victory placed her ahead of contestants from several African countries and automatically secured her a spot in the Miss World Top 40.
The achievement has generated excitement among Nigerian supporters, who are now hoping she can progress even further in the competition.
The next major target is a place in the Top 20, before the competition moves towards the final stages.
The Miss World 2026 grand final is scheduled to take place in Vietnam on September 5.
