Ogun 2027: ‘APC Can’t Suspend Me After Collecting N50m’ — Hunye

Ogun State governorship aspirant, Abayomi Hunye, has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his suspension from the party, questioning the reasons behind this decision after he paid N50 million for the party’s nomination form.

During his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Hunye explained that the APC had accepted his nomination fee, provided him with the necessary forms, and allowed him to complete the required documentation.

Hunye mentioned that he successfully went through the party’s screening process and was listed as number 52 on their screening list.

He noted that he was recognized as a valid candidate during the governorship primary election held on May 21.

Hunye questioned how the party could initially accept his nomination and allow him to participate in the processes only to later suspend him.

His remarks arrive amidst increasing political activity within the Ogun APC as preparations for the 2027 governorship election intensify, with internal party decisions and treatment of aspirants becoming focal points of debate.

This disagreement could escalate further as politicians and party members strategize for the upcoming election.
