Osun Election: INEC Uploads 37% of Results as Collation Continues

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has so far uploaded 37% of the Osun State gubernatorial election results to its results viewing portal, known as the IReV.

As of 5:27 pm, a review by OBASANJONEWS24 showed that the commission is adhering to its prior commitment to upload the election results onto the IReV platform.

Today, voters across Osun State cast their ballots for the next governor to occupy the Bola Ige Government House for a four-year term.

Fifteen political parties were represented on the ballot, with current Governor Ademola Adeleke running for re-election under the Accord Party banner.

Two candidates, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Simon Adewale from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), announced their withdrawal from the race.

Adeyemi-Doro threw his support behind APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, while Adewale endorsed Adeleke. Despite these withdrawals, both APGA and APM remained on the ballot.

It was reported earlier that Adeleke won at his first polling unit, with the Accord Party claiming victory at Polling Unit 026, Ward 5, in Osogbo Local Government Area.

According to results announced by INEC officials, the Accord Party received 57 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered 43 votes.

Results from various polling units across the state continue to be collected as collation moves forward.

However, the election has been affected by reports of intimidation, vote-buying, and other forms of electoral violence in certain areas, although in many parts of the state, voting has proceeded smoothly.
