Nigerian Afrobeat star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has commented on the arrival of key figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, for their governorship campaign rally.
Reports indicate that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside several governors from the ruling party, have gathered in Osun to participate in the rally ahead of the upcoming Saturday election. These APC leaders are determined to secure victory in the polls.
Arrivals in Osogbo on Wednesday night included governors such as Hope Uzodimma from Imo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa from Ondo State, and Governor Uba Sani from Kaduna State.
On his official X handle, Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of Osun State, welcomed the APC dignitaries to the state. Nevertheless, Davido shared Oyetola’s post on X, expressing skepticism about APC’s chances in the election.
He remarked that even with the support akin to Jesus’s 12 disciples, the ruling party would not win the polls: “If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma LULE for the 3rd time,” he wrote.
Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who is the current governor of Osun State, is seeking re-election through the Accord Party.
