OSOGBO — Results are beginning to trickle in from polling units across Osun State following the governorship election held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Sorting and counting have commenced at some polling units, with early results expected to be recorded and transmitted as the process progresses.
The election is being closely watched across the state, with Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the APC and Najeem Salaam of the ADC among the leading contenders.

Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is currently leading the Osun governorship election with 261,234 votes, ahead of APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who has 208,352 votes.
The figures show 18 of 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) reporting, with 486,461 total valid votes recorded so far.

🔴 Adeleke’s Strongest Reported Areas
Accord has recorded particularly strong figures in Ede North, where Adeleke has 25,585 votes against Oyebamiji’s 7,371.
In Ede South, Adeleke leads with 20,248 votes to APC’s 4,737.
The Accord candidate also leads in Osogbo, with 27,987 votes against Oyebamiji’s 23,760.
🔵 APC’s Strongholds
Oyebamiji has recorded significant victories in Irewole, where APC has 20,718 votes against Accord’s 7,958.
APC also leads in Boripe, Irepodun and Ola-Oluwa.
