Music icon Stevie Wonder is set to mark the 50th anniversary of his acclaimed album Songs in the Key of Life with a special world tour beginning in October.
The 25-time Grammy Award winner will perform the landmark 1976 album in its entirety during an 18-date tour across Europe and the United States.
The tour is scheduled to open on October 13 at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, United Kingdom, before moving through several major European cities, including Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Dublin and London.
Wonder will then begin the North American leg with a performance at Madison Square Garden in New York on November 19. The tour will continue to Chicago, Washington, D.C., his hometown of Detroit and other cities before concluding at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on December 19.
Released in 1976, Songs in the Key of Life became one of Stevie Wonder’s most celebrated albums and earned him the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1977.
The double album produced several enduring hits, including “I Wish,” “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Sir Duke,” “Another Star” and “As.”
The record has since achieved Diamond certification after selling more than 10 million copies. It has also been inducted into both the Grammy Hall of Fame and the United States National Recording Registry.
For fans, the anniversary tour will provide a rare chance to experience the complete album performed live rather than hearing only individual songs from Wonder’s extensive catalogue.
The upcoming concerts will also represent Wonder’s first official tour since his 2024 Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart tour.
Looking back on the album in a 1995 interview with Q Magazine, Wonder described Songs in the Key of Life as the record he was “most happy about,” linking its creation to a significant period in his life when he became a father.
