The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled its Best XI from the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, with no player from Nigeria’s Super Falcons making the final selection.
Nigeria’s campaign ended in disappointment after the 10-time African champions were eliminated in the quarter-finals following a 1-0 defeat to Cameroon.
The early exit marked the first time the Super Falcons failed to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
Tournament champions Cameroon had the strongest representation in the Best XI, with four players selected. They included goalkeeper Michaelly Bihina, Myrian Myadjou, Monique Ngock and Marie Ngah.
Runners-up Malawi secured two spots in the team through sisters Tabitha Chawinga and Temwa Chawinga.
Hosts Morocco also had two representatives, with Mohaila Benzina and Hanane Ait El Haj making the line-up.
Algeria equally contributed two players, Ines Bellomou and Marine Dafeur, while Zambia’s Barbara Banda completed the Best XI.
The absence of a Nigerian player comes after the Super Falcons’ disappointing quarter-final campaign at the tournament.
