The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) anticipates the arrival of 39 cargo vessels at major Lagos ports this week, carrying petroleum products, food items, and various imports from Monday through Saturday.
This information is detailed in the NPA’s Daily Shipping Position released on Monday, which outlines scheduled vessel movements at Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and Tincan Island Port.
According to the NPA, 11 of these vessels are container ships transporting a broad range of imported goods for businesses and consumers throughout Nigeria. The other 28 vessels are expected to arrive with cargo including petrol, crude oil, diesel, bulk urea, and general merchandise.
Other shipments scheduled for this week include bulk wheat, liquefied petroleum gas (cooking gas), gypsum, sugar, repair materials, and bulk pallets intended for industrial and commercial use.
The report indicates that the vessels are expected between August 3 and August 8 at Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and Tincan Island Port. Additionally, 10 ships have already reached the ports and are awaiting berthing approval.
The schedule shows that these awaiting vessels carry petrol, crude oil, bulk wheat, fertiliser, containers, and other general freight. The NPA also highlighted that cargo operations are actively ongoing across the three major Lagos ports, underscoring robust maritime and commercial activities.
Currently, 21 vessels are discharging cargo at Apapa, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and Tincan Island Port. The shiploads being offloaded include containers, petrol, crude oil, base oil, bulk wheat, sugar, general cargo, bulk pallets, and other materials essential for supporting industrial production, energy distribution, and commercial activities across the country.
