Bashir Ahmad, the National Director of Media Monitoring and Rapid Response for the City Boy Movement, has refuted claims that he received only 16 votes in the 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
According to reports from OBASANJONEWS24, discussions about Bashir’s unsuccessful bid for the APC ticket in the House of Representatives primary election of 2022 resurfaced on Thursday. In a viral post, Afrobeat artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, mocked the APC leader by alleging he garnered just 16 votes during the primary.

On Friday, Bashir addressed these claims on his official X account, stating unequivocally that no legitimate primary election took place and citing evidence of the rigging that marred the process. He expressed confidence that he would have emerged victorious if the election had been fair, urging Davido and his followers to desist from perpetuating falsehoods.
Bashir emphasized that suggesting he received 16 votes is simply inaccurate, asserting that the reported figures do not reflect a transparent, legitimate, or credible election process. He insists there are verifiable proofs, such as videos and other documents, supporting his assertions. He promised that the complete narrative would eventually be revealed.
