The women’s mobilisation campaign for Senator Uba Sani’s Kaduna State governorship bid is gaining momentum, with grassroots women forming support groups across the state ahead of the election.
One of the latest groups, “Igabi Women Wins for Uba Sani,” was founded by Hajia Saudatu Abduljalal and is focused on mobilising women across Igabi Local Government Area in support of Sani’s political ambition.
Sani disclosed this in a statement following a meeting with members of the group, describing the gathering as well attended and “electrifying.”
According to him, the women expressed strong support for his governorship ambition and pledged to dedicate their time, energy and resources toward securing his victory.
The women also cited Sani’s legislative record and empowerment initiatives as reasons for their support, particularly programmes they said had benefited women and young people across Kaduna State.
They expressed confidence that Sani would prioritise the welfare of residents if elected governor.
Responding to the women’s support, Sani promised to run an inclusive administration with a strong focus on women’s welfare and economic empowerment.
He said his administration would prioritise programmes designed to improve women’s access to economic opportunities and ensure that healthcare services are accessible to women across the state.
The former senator also pledged to give greater attention to female education, stressing the importance of improving opportunities for girls and women.
Sani thanked the women of Igabi for their support and urged them to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
He pledged to reciprocate their support by running a people-centred administration focused on the welfare of women and responsive to their concerns.
The mobilisation comes as political parties and candidates intensify grassroots campaigns across Kaduna State ahead of the governorship and general elections.
