Wilson Uwajaren, the Director of Public Affairs at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), clarified on Thursday that not all bank accounts belonging to Osun State have been frozen.
During an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Uwajaren explained that the EFCC imposed a temporary restriction on one of Osun State’s accounts due to suspicious activities observed over the past week.
He emphasized that only a specific account was targeted, and not all state accounts were affected. The EFCC has the authority to impose such temporary restrictions to prevent potential misuse.
With the governorship election in Osun State just days away, the agency had restricted this particular account to prevent alleged diversion of public funds.
