Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang asserts that artificial intelligence has the potential to significantly alter the economic landscape for nations that choose to invest in this technology, characterizing AI as a formidable force that can bridge the divide between developed and developing nations.

Huang expressed these views at the G20 Innovation Summit held in North Carolina, where policymakers, business leaders, and technology experts are exploring the opportunities and challenges presented by the swift advancement of artificial intelligence.

In a dialogue with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Huang emphasized that investment in AI infrastructure and technology is a crucial element that could influence the speed at which countries reap the benefits of the emerging digital economy.

The Nvidia chief indicated that nations that allocate resources towards AI could witness their industries and overall economies evolve at a rate that would have previously seemed implausible.

He referred to artificial intelligence as a “great equalizer,” implying that this technology could offer countries new avenues to enhance productivity, modernize their industries, and bolster their economic capabilities.

“For the countries that invest in it,” Huang remarked, AI could facilitate a rapid elevation of their societal and industrial standards “much, much more quickly” than many might anticipate.

His remarks come at a time when governments globally are increasingly seeking methods to develop domestic AI capabilities while ensuring that businesses, workers, and public institutions can harness the advantages of this technology.

Nvidia has positioned itself as a leading entity at the forefront of the AI revolution. Its high-performance processors are extensively utilized for training and operating advanced artificial intelligence systems.

Founded in 1993 by Huang and his co-founders, Nvidia initially gained recognition for its graphics processors and computer technology. The company has since evolved into a vital provider of the computing infrastructure that underpins today’s AI surge.
