The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of importing and harboring hackers to manipulate election results at a hotel in Osogbo, Osun State. The Accord Party called on security agencies to take immediate action and arrest those allegedly involved in this illegal operation.
These allegations were detailed in a release from Osogbo, signed by Accord Party’s State Chairman, Victor Akande. According to the party, reliable reports suggest these hackers plan to breach the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) digital system to alter election outcomes in Osun.
In response, Kola Olabisi, spokesperson for the APC in Osun, dismissed these accusations, stating the party is confident of winning the upcoming election without resorting to fraud. Olabisi suggested the Accord Party’s claims stem from an apprehension about potential defeat.
Accord maintained in its statement that hackers from Lagos and Abuja had established an operational base at the hotel to compromise the INEC’s electronic system by entering fraudulent results. The party urged INEC to bolster its digital security and called on security forces to intervene at GMT hotel and other suspected locations to halt any anti-democratic actions.

Reaffirming its readiness for the August 15 elections, Accord expressed determination to mobilize voters and encouraged INEC to remain vigilant in safeguarding its digital systems against manipulation, cautioning that any tampering with the election would face public resistance.
Rejecting the allegations, the APC labeled them as unfounded, urging voters to disregard such accusations. The APC asserted there was no truth to the claims of harboring hackers, considering them an attempt to tarnish the party’s image. It also suggested that the Accord Party should report any suspicions to the police rather than spread rumors.
