Flutterwave is bringing senior African and global business and government leaders together in New York as part of its activities around the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
The African payments technology company said its UNGA 81 engagements will focus on financial infrastructure, cross-border trade and investment as Africa prepares for another decade of economic transformation.
The company’s activities are taking place within the broader UNGA theme of restoring trust and managing transformation.
Flutterwave Hosts Africa Forward Forum
As part of its UNGA programme, Flutterwave will host an invitation-only executive forum titled “Africa Forward: Investing in the Next Decade of Growth” on September 23, 2026.
The forum is designed to bring together senior decision-makers from the public and private sectors.
Discussions will focus on the financial systems needed to support cross-border commerce, improve international money transfers and increase access to institutional capital.
Global Companies Expected
According to Flutterwave, the gathering will feature government officials and executives from major global organisations.
Participants are expected to include state governors, ministers and senior representatives of companies and institutions such as JPMorgan, Citi, Visa, Google, Microsoft, Chevron and the International Finance Corporation.
Other organisations listed among the participants include Standard Bank Group, Africa Finance Corporation and the International Development Finance Corporation.
Agboola Leads Flutterwave Delegation
Flutterwave Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, will lead the company’s executive delegation at the event.
He will be joined by Chief Legal, Regulatory Affairs and Public Policy Officer, Oluwabankole Falade; Managing Director of Flutterwave Services Limited, Risikatu Ahmed; and Head of Strategy and Planning, Bridgit Antwi.
The delegation will also include Senior Vice President, Public Sector, Olufunmilayo Olaniyi; Head of SME Business, Bolanle Baruwa; Head of Internal Audit, Juliet Aluziwe; and Head of Marketing, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu.
Focus on Africa’s Digital Economy
The UNGA gathering comes as Flutterwave marks its 10th anniversary.
The company said its evolution over the past decade has seen it expand from a payments-focused business into a broader financial technology platform serving African businesses and their international partners.
Flutterwave has also participated in global economic and technology forums, including World Bank and IMF meetings, the World Economic Forum and previous UN General Assembly events.
Building Financial Infrastructure
Flutterwave said Africa’s next phase of economic growth will require financial infrastructure capable of supporting businesses, governments and multinational companies operating across borders.
Agboola said the company is developing a multi-rail payments platform that combines different payment and financial technologies.
These include fiat payments, bank transfers, cards, mobile money, stablecoins and blockchain networks.
According to the company, integrating these services can help reduce barriers faced by African businesses seeking to participate in global commerce.
Trade and Investment in Focus
The discussions at the Africa Forward forum are expected to examine how modern financial infrastructure can support regional integration and international trade.
Flutterwave said its goal is to help African enterprises move money and conduct business more efficiently across international markets.
