Nigerian singer Orezi has declared that he would end his friendship with anyone who expresses support for Lindsay Clancy, the American mother accused in the deaths of her three children.
The singer made his position known in a post on his official Instagram account while reacting to discussions surrounding Clancy’s case.
Orezi said his decision would apply regardless of the perspective from which a friend chooses to assess the circumstances surrounding the case.
“If you are my friend and I see that you support Lindsay Clancy in any type of way, no matter what angle you decide to judge her situation from, consider our friendship over,” he wrote.
The singer also expressed strong disbelief at people showing sympathy or empathy towards Clancy.
He pointed to the deaths of her three children and stressed the ages of the victims, including an eight-month-old child.
“That woman strangled her 3 kids to death, 3 oooh. One of them was 8 months old,” Orezi stated.
Orezi further warned that he would not tolerate serious arguments with friends over their differing views on the matter.
Concluding his post, the singer called for Clancy to remain behind bars, writing: “She should rot in jail.”
His comments have added to the wider public debate surrounding the case, particularly over how people should view Clancy and the circumstances surrounding the deaths of her children.
