National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, on Thursday met with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Abuja.
The meeting formed part of ongoing consultations and deliberations among the party’s leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dickson, a former Bayelsa State governor, disclosed the development in a post on his verified X handle, saying the discussions focused on issues affecting the party and the country.
According to him, the meeting was aimed at further deliberating on key matters and finalising decisions as the party prepares to unveil its Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Today, I met with our party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, and the running mate, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, alongside the National Chairman and other party leaders,” Dickson said.
He explained that the latest meeting came just two days after an earlier engagement involving the party’s key stakeholders.
“We met two days ago, and we met again today to further deliberate and finalise decisions, particularly as we prepare for the unveiling of our party’s Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he added.
Dickson also called on party stakeholders, aspirants and members to put aside differences, strengthen unity and work together toward achieving electoral success.
He urged members to close ranks and collectively support the party’s candidates at all levels, stressing the importance of unity as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
The Abuja meeting comes as political parties and prospective candidates across Nigeria step up consultations and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
