An Israeli strike on a vehicle in Gaza has killed two people identified by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as Hamas engineers.
Thirteen others were reportedly wounded in the attack.
Vehicle Engulfed in Flames
Images from the scene showed the vehicle engulfed in flames after the strike.
People nearby tried to put out the fire. Civil defence teams later examined the burned-out wreckage.
Ambulances transported the casualties to Al-Shifa Hospital.
Medical workers received the dead and injured at the facility.
Bodies Taken for Burial
Palestinians later gathered at Al-Shifa Hospital to perform funeral prayers for those killed.
The bodies were then taken away for burial.
Palestinian health officials said the force of the explosion severely dismembered the victims.
They also appealed to members of the public for help identifying the two people killed.
IDF Names Two Targets
The IDF said the strike was aimed at two Hamas engineers.
They were identified as Hassan Ali Abu Nada and Abd al-Rahim Ahmad Khalil Khawa.
According to the Israeli military, the two men were involved in weapons production.
The claim has not been independently verified.
Fighting Continues Despite Ceasefire
The strike comes as violence continues in parts of the Gaza Strip.
It also raises fresh concerns about the durability of the US-brokered ceasefire.
The ceasefire has been in place since October 2025. However, reports of continued fighting have persisted.
