Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, the factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has denied involvement in a reported meeting by his faction members to endorse Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris for the 2027 elections.
In response to an inquiry, Turaki, who previously served as the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, claimed he was unaware of the meeting.
He mentioned that they were “unaware of the meeting.”
An online outlet reported that the meeting included former minister Buhari Bala and retired General Ishaya Bamayi, who were believed to have facilitated discussions leading to a resolution in support of the Idris administration for the 2027 elections.

Turaki, however, stated that his faction was not informed about the gathering and thus could not support any resolutions made at the meeting.
“We are not aware of the meeting. ‘Shirmen banaza ne,'” he said.
This development arises amidst ongoing factional splits within the PDP as it gears up for the general elections in 2027.
Both the Nyesom Wike faction and the Turaki-led group of the party have not yet publicly announced their governorship candidate for Kebbi State in the 2027 election.
